Dear Mill Creek Park Boater:

I want to start by thanking you for choosing Mill Creek Park for your boating recreation.  We appreciate your patronage.

The following information is very important and was brought to my attention by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Department of Natural Resources.

The Department of Public Health and the Department of Natural Resources prohibits the dumping of sewage into the lake by any boats.  All boats on inland lakes must have a sealed head (cannot dump to the outside.)  Please be aware that their fines are very harsh.  There is a good possibility of the fine being a felony, which carries a minimum $500 fine and can include the impounding of your boat.  A felony is also made a part of your permanent police record, which has several ramifications.  Conservation officers have hi-tech means to test your onboard facilities to ensure that no dumping has taken place.  Please be very aware of the law against dumping, as it will be enforced.  Conservation officers will be making regular rounds at Mill Creek Park.

You will find our dump station located at the main entrance of the campground.

If you have any questions, feel free to call the office at 217-889-3901.  Thank you again for choosing to boat at Mill Creek Park.

Sincerely,

Peggy Tingley
